California's Thrice are finally returning to the land of the long white cloud, with a one-off headline date at Auckland's iconic The Powerstation locked in for 29th April. Thrice's stature has only grown in the searing and emotive realm of post-hardcore since they were last here in Aotearoa nearly two decades ago. Now with twelve sonically ambitious studio records out in the world (punctuated by a brief hiatus in the early 2010s), including such consistently monumental releases as Vheissu (2005) The Artist In The Ambulance (2003), Beggars (2009), To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere (2016) and Horizons/East (2021), Thrice have joined forces with legendary punk rock imprint Epitaph for their latest three long players — including brand new album Horizons/West, which has reaped significant praise from Metal Hammer and Kerrang!

Fans will be making a beeline to The Powerstation to witness the majestic live onslaught of Thrice: Dustin Kensrue, Teppei Teranishi, Eddie Breckenridge and Riley Breckenridge. We advise moving fast when presales go live later this week via SBM Presents...

"It’s always amazing when people say the music got them through something difficult, or became the soundtrack to a pivotal moment in their lives."

Press release:

Post-hardcore trailblazers Thrice return to Australia and New Zealand in 2026, bringing their powerful live show and new album Horizons/West. Fans will experience the new songs live for the very first time, alongside classic tracks from the band’s rich catalogue.

Steadfast and straightforward creative conviction has guided Thrice since they emerged in the late ’90s with a sound that combined hardcore grit and progressive ambition. They quickly became defining figures in the post-hardcore movement, with their seminal 2003 album The Artist in the Ambulance hailed in Rock Sound’s list of 25 Modern Classics and in NME’s “20 Emo Albums That Have Resolutely Stood the Test of Time.”

From the underground punk scene to major and influential indie labels, Thrice has created a deep catalogue of intense, meaningful, and emotionally driven albums. They continue to evolve while remaining a singular force, balancing urgency, atmosphere, and emotional resonance. For over two decades, the band has defied categorisation - turning restlessness into longevity, experimentation into anthems, and conviction into community.

The enduring Thrice line-up of Dustin Kensrue (vocals/guitar), Teppei Teranishi (guitar), Eddie Breckenridge (bass), and Riley Breckenridge (drums) has never lost connection with their diverse audience. Their legacy is best understood beyond Billboard charts or streaming numbers - through personal impact and the bonds forged across years.
