The Black Angels (USA) Auckland Show Announced - Strange Universe: Winter 2026
An interstellar supercluster of globally acclaimed acts converging upon Tāmaki Makaurau this May* and June, the already next level lineup for Strange Universe: Winter 2026 has been bolstered further with the addition of Texan psych-rockers The Black Angels. Key figures in 21st century fuzz-worship — members of The Black Angels co-founded Austin's iconic Levitation Festival (this year hosting Aotearoa's Earth Tongue) — the group's amp-melting, post-13th Floor Elevators / Jefferson Airplane / Byrds sonics have been captured on wax across six studio records thus far, including their latest record 2022's Wilderness of Mirrors. The Black Angels will be opening up a portal of sound at The Powerstation on Saturday 6th June, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album Passover, all brought to you by Banished Music and Strange News...
