Press release:
Born in Leningrad and raised in London, DJ Vadim has spent more than two decades carving out a singular place in global underground music culture. A producer, DJ and founder of the influential independent labels Jazz Fudge and King Dada Sounds, Vadim’s sound pulls from hip hop, soul, reggae, dub, jazz and bass music, stitched together with a style that has remained unmistakably his own since the early days of trip hop and Ninja Tune.
Since emerging in the mid-90s, Vadim has built a worldwide reputation as a fearless musical innovator, releasing more than 30 albums and touring relentlessly across clubs, festivals and soundsystems around the globe. His long-running relationship with Ninja Tune helped establish him as one of the defining producers of the era, while collaborations with artists including Stevie Wonder, The Roots, Prince, Public Enemy and DJ Krush further cemented his reputation as a boundary-pushing creative force.
Equal parts crate-digger, beat scientist and veteran selector, Vadim’s DJ sets move fluidly through hip hop, dubwise rhythms, soulful electronics and heavyweight bass pressure, always driven by deep musical knowledge and a lifelong dedication to soundsystem culture. With thousands of performances across nearly 90 countries, he remains one of the underground’s most respected and relentlessly creative figures.
