Weekly Round Up: Friday 25th July
Only a handful of shows were announced this week. Local acts hitting the road soon include hardcore outfit Parents, who are celebrating the release of their 7-inch Low Life with four shows around the country. And Neil Finn has announced a nationwide tour with Bic Runga in September to support his latest album Dizzy Heights. From further afield, English indie group Elbow are returning to New Zealand for one show in November. Also in November, thrash metal band Prong are heading over from New York for a single performance in Auckland.
In release news, Auckland guitar-pop group Black Science shared single 'FDB' from their Cheer Up EP, which is due out next week. Instrumental titans Kerretta unveiled new track 'Warnlands' and revealed plans for their album Pirohia to be released in September. Prolific Christchurch musician Joe Sampson (Salad Boys, T54) shared a new EP titled Fully Charged, under the new moniker Seth Africa. And Danish duo The Raveonettes dropped surprise album Pe'ahi sharing two excellent tracks online, which you can hear over here.
This week's Caught Live is a fan-filmed video of Jack White (pictured above looking surly at a Cubs game) performing 'Seven Nation Army' and gets one lucky fan up on stage to sing/play guitar....
