Video: Hamish Kilgour - Strength Of An Eye (UTR Premiere)

Dunedin-born musical force Hamish Kilgour, who formed The Clean in 1978 along with brother David, is premiering a new video for his song 'Strength Of An Eye' taken from his new record All Of It And Nothing. The nature-inspired clip was directed by Kilgour's long-time friend, American filmmaker Michael Galinsky, whose credits include the acclaimed 2011 documentary Battle For Brooklyn. The footage was captured by Galinksy on his iPhone after walking through a meadow behind his New York home and spotting a cluster of caterpillars. "I had been thinking about filming things like that and it all just fell into place," he says. "When I make videos, I like to think of them as collaborations with the song. Most of the time they are somewhat intuitive. With 'Strength Of An Eye' it all just fell together". The final result is a short clip somewhat reminiscent of 1996 film Microcosmos, documenting the detailed interactions between flora and fauna. Take a look below...
