This week sees January come to a close with a handful of international tour announcements, first off we have former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley heading over for two New Zealand shows in April. Ska funnyman Buster Bloodvessel and the rest of Bad Manners will be returning to these shores for a three-date tour in May. Melbourne-based duo Spermaids will be are returning a wee jaunt around the country, kicking off in Auckland in late February and winding up in Dunedin in mid-March. And punk outfit Slates are escaping the Canadian cold to play three New Zealand shows next week.


In release news, bedroom musician P.H.F has dropped his highly anticipated album Grind State, which was quickly followed by a new video from prolific director Simon Ward. Auckland three-piece The Nightshades (which brings together members of New Gum Sarn, Bargain Bin Laden and Surf City) shared fresh single 'Chew' from their upcoming debut album Dope Sick. Dry-witted songstress Courtney Barnett unveiled new single 'Pedestrian At Best' with a video along with announcing the forthcoming release of a new album due out in March. And Death Cab For Cutie revealed 'Black Sun' from their eighth album Kintsugi, also due out in March.


This week's Caught Live is Future Islands rocking 'Doves' on the Laneway stage in Singapore before heading over here to blow away audiences in Auckland on Monday (head over here for our Laneway coverage)...
