Weekly Round Up: Friday 24th April

Friday 24th April, 2015 3:30PM

This week brought with it a number of tour announcements. First off we had Australian garage outfit Kit Convict and Thee Terrible Two announce two shows for the upper North Island. Berlin-based producer Parra For Cuva has lined up three New Zealand shows which kick off this weekend. South African alt-metal act Seether are returning to New Zealand for one show in June. And today, Ryan Adams revealed he will be coming to these shores for two shows in July. In local tour news, ex-pat Marlon Williams has planned a four-date June tour to support the release of his debut solo album. Don McGlashan is heading on an extensive nationwide tour starting in June to celebrate his new album Lucky Stars. Recent Spunk signee Nadia Reid is undertaking three shows to support her recent record Listen to Formation, Look for the Signs. Carb On Carb have a seven-stop tour lined up before they head over to tour Australia and Asia. And from the rumour mill, Blur have announced huge headline shows while in Australia for Splendour In The Grass in July, so fingers firmly crossed they make it here.

In release news, 90s alt icons The Violent Femmes shared their four-track EP Happy New Year, which was recorded over the festive season and is their first comprehensive release in about 15 years. Canadian masters of experimental hardcore Fucked Up shared the B-side single from their forthcoming EP Year Of The Hare, the latest in their Chinese zodiac-themed releases. Unknown Mortal Orchestra let loose the funk-tinged second single 'Can't Keep Checking My Phone' from the upcoming album Multi-Love. Ex-pat Eden Mulholland shared new track 'Utopia' as a taster for his forthcoming record Hunted Haunted. And She's So Rad unveiled their excellent new cut 'Kick Out Of Life', the second single from their soon-to-drop album Tango.

This week's Caught Live is The War On Drugs giving a top notch performance of 'Red Eyes' on The Ellen DeGeneres Show...
