Gig Information

Join us for an awesome evening of music with soul-pop act Bekah & The Backchat with blues-rock 3-piece, Apera.

After beginning her musical career at high school where she began playing the guitar and writing songs, Bekah has gone on to study electronic music production at SAE. She also gained a scholarship at uni, sending her to Los Angeles to work at Paramount Recording Studio.

While working at Paramount, Bekah released her 'L.A Mixtape' on Soundcloud featuring various producers she met at the studio.
After returning to NZ in 2014, she released her Relocation EP with LA-based producer, Scott Eglin.

In October 2016, she released a new single and her first official music video for her song Wanna Play and has plans for another release in 2017. She currently plays live with her band The BackChat with members - Evon Lavea, Jess Hix and Dean Rodrigues, and is currently working on new material.

Devonport's Apera has been weaving his love of philosophy and life into his carefully crafted songs since he was first gifted a guitar at age 10.

Initially influenced by bands such as Radiohead and Coldplay, his attention has more recently turned to emotive and expressive singer such as Matt Corby, Jeff Buckley and Hozier.
His music is a melodic blend of tasteful progressions, intriguing melodies and thoughtful lyrics.

His most recent release - an album titled Lift You Up is available on all major streaming platforms.
