Some interesting bits and pieces came down the grapevine for tour news this week. Today we were happy to announce Atlanta garage punk trio The Coathangers are heading this way in a couple of months for two shows. NYC rapper and Stones Throw signee Homeboy Sandman announced two New Zealand dates for mid-August. November will see half of the original Monkees members coming to these shores for two performances celebrating their 50th anniversary. In local tour news, Gareth Thomas announced his 'Fizzy Milk' album release tour. And The Dead C's Bruce Russell has lined up a string of shows for next week with Australian artist and noisemaker Marco Fusinato.

In local release news, Oscar Dowling of New Gum Sarn has come forth with his impressive debut single 'The Life' as he prepares to unveil his first solo album. Wellington artist Joe Blossom shared a preview stream of his new record All Of The Above, which is being officially released today. And the wonderful Wellington-based artist Madison V also shared her sublime new song 'So Fantastic'. Further abroad, Preoccupations (fka Viet Cong) shared their first new track since changing their name. Badbadnotgood let loose their new single featuring Kaytranada, who will be on these shores for a one show in October. D-Town rapper Danny Brown shared his awesomely hectic new tune 'When It Rain' along with an awesome video.
