Muroki and RIIKI REID Chat in New 'Under Cover' Episode + Perform Each Other's Songs

Fast-rising stars Muroki aka Muroki Mbote Wa Githinji and Riiki Reid aka Raquel Abolins-Reid sat down together for the latest episode of Banished Music's ongoing web series Under Cover, the final edition for 2022. Befitting time-honoured Under Cover tradition — this year's season has also featured Erny Belle, Delaney Davidson, Lawrence Arabia, Samuel Flynn, Martin Phillipps and Semisi Maiai (Marlin's Dreaming) — the artists had a candid conversation and performed each others' tunes, this time in the grungey underground surrounds of Tāmaki Makaurau's The Wine Cellar.

Back in the super city following a hectic round of touring, Muroki manned the bongos while performing a mellow rendition of Riiki Reid's 'Good Times' with keyboardist Joe Kaptein, while Riiki Reid sung a soulful take on Muroki's 'For Better Or Worse’ in a bar booth with Tom Verberne on guitar. The busy pair reconnected with a chinwag touching on formative memories, balancing on-the-go schedules, how to tackle the ever-looming threat of stage nerves, their own personal journeys as artists and more.
