2020 culminates an entire decade of Madcap propelling New Zealand music. Madcap Clubnight in March features a triple billing showcase of live music from You On Television, Arkaedes Club & Avya Grace plus Madcap DJs in support.
You On Television
An indie/surf/pop headed by Nick Wrathall, returns in glory. Performing across notable festivals such as R&V, Cuba Dupa and having recently supported Mako Road, You On Television’s live show has garnered a reputation for its hoove-moving, head banging, sing your heart out grooves. Expect a tasty selection of new chunes being tested out sooner then you can say “damn that’s a handsome band,” you’re gonna wanna come get em while they’re hot.
Arkaedes Club
Sun-stroked and fluvial, Arkaedes Club finds its pocket of glimmer in its hypnagogic pop, lo-fi rock and alternative indie swells. Orchestral in its six members, its lovely and peculiar bed of sound complimented by watery, reflective lyricism is sure to make you contemplate why you had that dinosaur dream the other moon.
Avya
Avya is a soulful singer songwriter, bringing you a variety of delicate vocal tones and heart felt lyrics. With the belief that music is a tool intended to stir emotion and vulnerability within the listener, to communicate a positive message, and to promote empathy - this is the philosophy that guides Avya in her career. Inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse and Erykah Badu, Avya’s tone brings a strong element of soul to her music.
