After sold-out shows around the country in 2020, the Mitchell Sisters are pleased to bring their harmony-filled show to the Southland Musician's Club. Bringing you songs from their live EP, The Grainstore Sessions, audiences can expect a night of storytelling & Southern wit.
Born & bred in Gore, the Mitchell family have a deep love for the storytelling of country & folk music. Jenny was awarded the 2019 Tui for Recorded Music NZ Best Country Artist and was the first kiwi to be nominated for Alt Country Album of the Year at the 2020 Australian Golden Guitar Awards. Along with dozens of festivals across the ditch, here in NZ she’s been on the Canterbury & Wellington Folk Festival bill & has played countless house concerts in every nook & cranny of NZ.
Maegan and Nicola are identical twins with a love of catchy melodies and warm harmonies. With Nicola on baritone ukulele & Maegan on percussion, the pair are inspired by artists such as Kacey Musgraves and Swedish Sister Duo - First Aid Kit. The 2020 Grainstore Sessions Tour was their first touring experience and they simply, “had a ball.”
A show suitable for all ages, full of original tunes + a selection of songs Jenny, Maegan & Nicola's early days.
