Gig Information

Genre-bending Persian-NZ musician and artist CHAII’s discography has traversed the realms of R&B, Hip Hop, electronica and more.

Her debut EP, Lightswitch features a mesmerizing blend of sounds and footage from Oman to Joshua Tree projecting from her strong Middle Eastern roots, and includes standout tracks that were part of the EA Sports’ FIFA 21 soundtrack, the launch of Apple’s iPhone 12, and in the Netflix original film The Old Guard starring Charlize Theron. Now following on from her second release, the Pineapple Pizza EP CHAII returns with new music for 2023 with her new single Drippin' In Gold.

After years of experimenting and finding her sound, she has just started to release what she calls the closest music to me and who I am.

CHAII invites you into a piece of her world as she continues to navigate through life.

Support act JOLA BURNS is an electrifying pop/electronic cousin duo hailing from Nelson/Whakatū. Their sound, influenced by the mesmerising vocals of Jorja Smith and the innovative production of Flume, creates an irresistible musical fusion. Onstage their live performance, launching samples with live guitar, synths, vocals and drum pads, captivates audiences.

Already making waves in the music scene, JOLA BURNS released their debut singles Going Up Now, Sixes and Sevens and “Looking Back At Me” in 2023. They performed at Nelson Opera in the Park to a crowd of 7000+, and placed 2nd overall in the nationwide Smokefree Rockquest 2023 solo/duo National Final.
