UPDATE: Unfortunately K M T P can no longer make it, so we’ve bought on Beth Torrance to join the frey!
Make your first gig of the year a good one, by celebrating the release of SPECK COMICS: Issue Four!
SPECK COMICS is an independent comic zine from Tāmaki Makaurau, showcasing the greatest and strangest visual narratives by artists from around Aotearoa. We're celebrating the release of our fourth issue with some of Tāmaki's finest musicians - come by The Wine Cellar on the 6th of January to pick up a zine, enjoy some tunes, and ring in the new year!

SPECK is an independent comic zine showcasing the most unhinged mahi of visual storytellers across Aotearoa, created by Liam Hansen (they/them) and Stella Roper (they/she). Hidden inside of SPECK COMICS: ISSUE FOUR are computer wizards, void creatures, and sentient podcasts. Speck is by weird art kids, for weird art kids. (Speck is definitely not a cult.)
K M T P is the semi-solo project of Keria Paterson (Te Arawa, Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāi Tahu), blending early 2000's alt rock with the sounds of midwest emo becoming ever more present in Aotearoa. Their new album, 'With Love, K M T P' , came after years of meticulously crafting a nostalgia-filled soundscape of grungy guitars and earworms, netting them the Student Radio Network award for Te Tohu Kaipuoro Toa (Favourite Solo Act).
Despite being new to the club scene of Tāmaki Makaurau, Cupid has already found themselves at the forefront of an ever-growing list of DJ's from Aotearoa who's names will be remembered. Their unique style of mixing combines techno, jungle, house and hiphop, having gained the attention of pre-eminent local jewellery outfit Hi-fi Sci-fi who had her on the lineup for their recent Psyberia II gig.
Club Ruby is an indie rock/pop punk five piece (that’s secretly a musical) who are fresh off the release of their debut EP 'Was God Birthed?'. Consisting of 'Ruby' (Jade Lewis), Hon Manawangphiphat, Sophie Gibson, Jonathan Meyer, and Josh Johnston (drums), the groups infectious pop hooks have found their way into The Wine Cellar many times before and won't be leaving anytime soon - unless, that is, for a bigger venue.
