Originally formed in 2016, Blue River Baby showcases the combined talents of Ivy Padilla (Panda), Cam Crawford, Jason Hotton, Dave Bamford, Matt Fitzpatrick and John Gaulter, conjuring up a floor-filling, genre-defying sonic melting pot of funk, dub, rock, soul, ska and reggae. Wellington's Powerhouse Funk dub soul rockers BLUE RIVER BABY are touring NZ hot on the heals of hitting #1 in the IMNZ Top 20 NZ Album charts and claiming the #8 spot on the NZ Official Top 20 Album charts.

The Band who came together in 2016 in Wellington, are drawn together for their combined love of making music to move and connect people. The result that has captivated audiences at their shows, is a powerful infusion of vintage psychedelia with elements of funk dub rock, soul, ska and reggae.

With an organic, rocking sound that has been storming stages and filling rooms over the past few years. Blue River Baby pull together an epic group of groove monsters and deliver a unique, addictive sound with brilliant results that will have moving. BRB are ‘Dianna Ross’ like Ivy Padilla (Panda) Lead vocals, Cam Crawford Keys and vocals, Jason Hotton Drums, Dave Bamford Bass, Matt Fitzpatrick Guitar, John Gaulter Sax and woodwind.

Their Debut Album 'Blue River Baby' released this July hit #1 on the NZ Independent music top 20 album chart and #8 on the Official NZ TOP 20 Album chart. The first single off the album ‘Blackyard Town’ released Jan 2019 hit #7 on the itunes NZ top 200 RnB charts, featured on Radio in Australia, USA, UK and NZ. And was selected as a Radioactive.fm, SRN Hit pick.

Their 2nd single ‘Walk of Shame’ released on the 29th of March 2019 hit #20 on the UK’s iTunes top 200 Blues charts and received radio support across NZ, USA & Australia. Their 3rd self-titled single ‘Blue River Baby’ hit #1 on the iTunes NZ R&B soul charts and has also been supported across stations in NZ, Australia and USA.

BRB have built a strong and loyal following, they love to play live, feeding off the crowd’s energy and delivering an impressive show each time. Their biggest gig to date was as main headline act for NYE in Nelson where they delivered an electric 75-minute set of originals to 20,000 party revellers keeping them on their feet well into 2019.
