Reb Fountain & Nadia Reid Chat In 'Under Cover' Web Series
The Banished Music team must have been working overtime during lockdown, not only helping spread the word about the absolutely crucial Save Our Venues fundraising initiative to keep Aotearoa's gig culture alive, but also putting together a second episode of their ongoing Under Cover: Artists in Isolation in Conversation web series of artist interviews. As with April's first offering featuring Marlon Williams and Finn Andrews, the new fourteen minute segment showcases a conversation between two of our finest songwriters, Reb Fountain and Nadia Reid, reflecting on their shared experiences in releasing new albums at a time when the world turned upside down.
Along with unpacking the conflicted feelings resulting from tour plans being derailed by Covid-19, Under Cover with Nadia Reid & Reb Fountain captures the moment when they first heard New Zealand's venues would finally be reopening again at Level 2 alert status, plus a smidgeon of cute pet footage. Both artists also performed intimate solo versions of tunes from each others' latest albums, with Fountain playing Reid's 'Get The Devil Out' from Out Of My Province and Reid covering Fountain's 'Faster'.
