Weekly Roundup: Friday 24th July

Weekly Roundup: Friday 24th July

Chris Cudby / Image: Latinaotearoa / Friday 24th July, 2020 5:07PM

We'll be shaking off those seasonally affected, mid-winter blues with a tonne of awesome live options this weekend – keeping at the forefront of our minds the fact that Aotearoa is one of few places in the world with a thriving gig culture right now. Announcement highlights for a relatively quiet news week included longtime friends Nadia Reid and Hollie Fullbrook of Tiny Ruins are teaming up for a double-headline tour that will take them all the way from Dunedin to Auckland, and Tāmaki Makaurau's Put Your Ear To The Underground mini-festival is set to deliver a full spectrum of sights and sensations from Karangahape Rd's counter-cultural and outsider communities this coming September. On the features front, we were absolutely stoked to share Lydia Jenkin's in-depth chat with band of the moment / past few years The Beths, giving us a whole lot more ways to love the Tāmaki Makaurau superstars, who are touring across the nation in August, September and November – tuck into the interview here.
