Weekly Roundup: Friday 9th October

The major news this week was Auckland has finally rejoined the rest of Aotearoa at Alert Level 1, as announced by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on Monday, along with a message to New Zealanders to remain vigilant and keep using the NZ Covid Tracer app to help minimise potential future outbreaks. We couldn't be more bloody stoked — we encourage everyone to make the most of our thriving gig scene, get out there and support our community this weekend.

We're happily back to gig season a-go-go. Announcement highlights for the week included 2020 Silver Scroll finalist Reb Fountain revealed a third Tāmaki Makaurau headline date for her spring NZ tour, with none other than special guest Shayne P. Carter joining her for all three super city events, Ha The Unclear announced supports for their spring national tour celebrating their sparkly new single 'Strangers', Aotearoa thrashers Stälker are launching their second studio album Black Majik Terror at the windy city's heavy music hub Valhalla in early November, party punks Dartz are hosting a hometown Halloween knees-up at Wellington's San Fran, Pōneke dreamboats O & The Mo revealed a magical video for their latest single 'Pistachio Moon' and announced a summer NZ tour, country icons The Warratahs are revving up the engine for a very special headline show at Christchurch's Cassels Blue Smoke in November, and Cut Off Your Hands announced a second Auckland send-off event at Whammy Bar in late October.
