Listen to The Sour's Debut 'Daughters' EP
First started up as a Hole covers band, Tāmaki Makaurau's The Sour surpass these humble origins to be their own grunge-punk force to be reckoned with on today's debut Daughters EP. The all-wāhine collective of Lani Purkis (Elemeno P), Jessie Booth (Ekko Park), Jana Te Nahu Owen (Somme) and Tam Matchett (Demons of Noon) bookend earlier singles 'Your God & Mine' and 'Hex' with a new studio version of shoegazey fuzz-pop ripper 'Drinking on a Sunday', plus propulsive final piece of the puzzle 'You'.
"Dedicated all the girls and the daughters", we'd put decent money down these hook-crammed tunes will sounds just as good on stage or even better. Make a beeline to their release gigs this NZ Music Month / Te Marama Puoro o Aotearoa at Whammy Bar and Moon in Te Whanganui-a-Tara...
