The Broken Heartbreakers Announce Album Release Tour + Share Single 'How Long Is Too Long'
Signees to Nadia Reid's own boutique imprint Slow Time Records, Ōtepoti-based songwriting stars The Broken Heartbreakers aka Rachel Bailey and John Howell have been making it happen at their own unrushed pace for nearly 25 years. Their new ballad enquires 'How Long Is Too Long' as they announce the imminent launch of their first new studio record in over a decade, album number four Imagine If We Could Just Keep Driving, which will be out in the world in full on 17th July.
Recorded with latest recruit on the skins Paul McLennan-Kissel (who joined at the start of this decade), co-produced with Nick Roughan and sporting a stylish cover design by Dudley Benson, The Broken Heartbreakers will be spreading the good word about their eleven song creation with an oncoming nationwide release tour — hitting Aotearoa New Zealand's four main centres, Ōamaru plus a ferry jaunt to Waiheke's Artworks Theatre in early spring. Lushly arranged and luminous in tone, 'How Long Is Too Long' makes a reassuring case for good things coming to those who wait. Listen right now and head along this September...
"It’s going to be great taking these new songs around the motu with a full band in the van in September – and so happy to be working with some dear old friends helping make this happen!" - The Broken Heartbreakers
"Rachel and John are such gifted writers, observers, singers, and players. These songs are the stuff of life – life on life’s terms. They sound like Dunedin, and Ireland, like K’Road. I’m so grateful that this record is joining Slow Time’s stable of records." - Nadia Reid
