Soon returning to Aotearoa for a spring tour with Unsanitary Napkin, DEATHRO is an ultra-charismatic, explosive bundle of beatrock energy, both onstage and off. You don't need to take our word for it, as Kanagawa Japan’s #1 rock vocalist's 2025 debut visit to our shores has been faithfully captured for posterity in a new eight-part punk rockumentary.

DEATHRO's AOTEAROA 2025 TOUR DIARY spotlights his summertime performances with tour bandmates DIPSPLEASURE (same membership as Unsanitary Napkin) and rowdy local supports galore — playing together and getting out 'n' about in Tāmaki Makaurau, Kirikiriroa, Whanganui, Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Ōtepoti, Ōhinehou, Tākaka, and cruising on the Interislander playing acoustic! You might even spot yourself in the crowd, it's like you're actually on tour with DEATHRO.

Created with evident care by Unsanitary Napkin / DISPLEASURE's Ru (also of Varda) and viewable in full on a specially designed neocities site, the joy of touring is undeniable in a film series which doubles as a timely snapshot of our noisy underground. The site also features credits info, all the Daily Secretion and Wrought Material tour posters for the tour ("and a heart shaped easter egg on the page"), Bandcamp links and more.

"In 2025, Kanagawa Japan's #1 Rock Vocalist, DEATHRO, travelled to Aotearoa, New Zealand for an 8 show tour of the Land of the Long White Cloud. He was joined by Displeasure, a side-project of the anarcho-hardcore band Unsanitary Napkin, who organized the tour in collaboration with Wrought Material / Alexander Brown.

The tour was filmed on a Panasonic RZ-1 VHC-C camera, and all the audio is raw from the tape. The camera was also handed around the tour group, and much of the live footage was filmed by people in the audience. As a result, the footage is patchy and inconsistent and the audio is almost always blown out. Assembling it has been a labour of love, and hopefully it captures a few precious memories and documents a musical partnership and friendship." - Ru
