Weekly Round-Up: Friday 26th July

Weekly Round-Up: Friday 26th July

Friday 26th July, 2013 12:28PM

It feels a bit like the calm before the storm this week with some great tours being announced next week but little to report on this week (unless you like David Guetta that is). Of course dominating the tour announces to come will be the Big Day Out 2014 lineup next Thursday morning and we were going to avoid the rumour mill this year but couldn't resist jumping in when we heard pretty solid reports that Pearl Jam may be headlining - news that has received a mixed response from our Facebook followers.  Before this announce though we'll have two international tours to reveal one of which we've dropped a few hints about over here and have a ticket to giveaway .

In other music news of note this week, Cut Off Your Hands have been announced to be supporting Foals in Auckland this October and are working on their third album, ambient electronic producer Four Tet has announced the release of new album Beautiful Rewind 'soon', Cults will follow up their breakthrough 2011 debut with second album Static in October, Hollywoodfun Downstairs shared a new track from their forthcoming debut album and announced nationwide tour dates, Arcade Fire, David Byrne and Lou Reed have been announced to be contributing to a Peter Gabriel album project called And I'll Scratch Yours, Sebadoh released the first single from their first new album in over a decade out in September, the Top 20 artists and songs in contention for the APRA Silver Scroll Award this year have been announced, The Naked and Famous dropped their first new material since the release of Passive Me, Aggressive You in 2010 and finally, rumour has it a new music festival is heading to New Zealand this summer and will take place north of Auckland in February.

Every week there are more videos around than we get to post - here is a selection of such videos from this week well worth a look...

Fidlar - 'Cocaine' featuring Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman:

King Khan and The Shrines - 'Darkness'

Fiona Apple - 'Hot Knife' directed by ex Paul Thomas Anderson responsible for a number of her early clips.

Kanye West - 'BLKKK SKKKN HEAD'
