Weekly Round Up: Friday 7th November

Friday 7th November, 2014 2:05PM

In this week's tour news, an all-ages event titled Ageold was announced for Auckland in December and will feature performances from Brisbane act The Keepaways as well as local talent Die! Die! Die!, PHF, Miss June, Trust Punks and more. Also in December, Dictaphone Blues will be kicking off a nationwide tour in support of new album Mufti Day, and Luger Boa will be performing four shows around the North Island. In the new year, Japanese pop punk legends Shonen Knife will be playing four shows around the country. Then in February, Drake and his pal 2 Chainz will be winging their way over for a one-off show in Auckland. March will see post-rock masters Mogwai visiting New Zealand for two concerts, and that same month Michael Franti and Spearhead will be swinging by for a handful of Byron Bay Bluesfest sideshows.

In release news, things have been pretty busy on the local front. Jonathan Bree (of The Brunettes) shared 'Weird Hardcore', the first single from his forthcoming album largely inspired by classical music. Recently formed indie-rock duo My Halo from Auckland unveiled their excellent self-titled debut EP. Tauranga trio Threat.Meet.Protocol let loose 'The Last One', the final single being released in anticipation of their forthcoming EP Pretentious, which came accompanied by a sick homemade video. Wellington punks Fantails headed off to tour Australia, but not before leaving a parting gift in the form of a new self-titled EP. And Voe, also from the capital city, shared beautiful psych-folk single 'Crowded House' from their upcoming album due out later this month.

Earlier this week we shared the new Die Antwoord video which featured a whole bunch of celebrity cameos including Marilyn Manson. Well, it seems the musician-mingling fun didn't end there... Ninja appeared with Manson and Johnny Depp onstage to perform 'Beautiful People' in California over Halloween. Check out this week's Caught Live below...
