We'll be kicking off folk club this week the way we always do, with floor singers for the first half, a pretty damn great raffle (free with fully paid door entry), and rounding it off with the sweet sounds of Pete & The Skiffy Rivets, our special guests this week.
Pete & the Skiffy Rivets began when Pete Parnham joined harmony specialists Holly Carrington and Sue Tearne for a concert item at a music weekend in Waharau. They sparked off each other immediately and the mandolin, guitar and vocals of Steve Gerrish completed the line up soon after, setting the stage for the band’s signature harmony transformation of songs from the Americana tradition.
Be warned: time flies, when you lose yourself in the music of Pete & the Skiffy Rivets.
