After years of practicing in a cold Mt. Roskill garage, playing a New Zealand tour and then going on a lengthy hiatus, Little Brother is excited to announce their first record.
To celebrate they will perform it live at Community Hall (a sweet little venue just off Krd) with special guests Valere and Ellie Anderson.
Tickets available from UnderTheRadar, otherwise door sales will be available as long as there is space inside.
EP bio:
After years of writing and performing around New Zealand, sharing the stage with artists such as Holly Arrowsmith, Fazerdaze, Paper Cranes, Joseph & Maia and Luke Thompson, the Auckland band, Little Brother, are set to release their self-titled debut EP.
Produced by Fraser Browne from the Paper Cranes, Little Brother's brooding acoustic/electronic sound pitches guitar and cello against lush synths and bass. This tension reflects the lyrical themes; the fear found only in love, sexuality and spirituality, and salvation found not in morality, but in kindness.
The record was written in Mt. Roskill and recorded in Mt. Maunganui, but it doesn't sound like a trip to the beach. It sounds more like a drunken, theological debate at a house party.
