Foley started almost as a dare - a challenge between two long time friends to blend their mutual love of pop into a meaningful spin on pop music
Frustrated with the standard model of two-piece acts being pigeonholed into 1 vocalist and 1 producer, Foley made a point to be equal. Songs are crafted together, 50/50; with neither party more important than the other.
In a male dominated industry where female vocalists are often commoditized, its an important distinction to make.
Foley have just released their second single and the long list of achievements that followed is proof that going against the grain works.
TECHNICLR, the New Zealand based 3-piece girl group are a fresh face to the scene documenting their journey into the music industry. With an innate ability to translate emotions through their music, this trio are taking the much loved genres of RnB, Jazz and Pop and creating something uniquely their own. “Even though we all come from different backgrounds, we connect over our passion and understanding of music.” Interested in creating an entity that people from all over the world are able to recognise and identify with, TECHNICLR have a strong focus on keeping everything authentic, letting their musical arrangements form naturally.
Jake Bartos, front man for Auckland based band Summer Thieves, has taken a step back from production to just an acoustic guitar and vocals. He will be Playing stripped back originals and some of his favourite tunes that inspired him as a young warper.
This sassy three-piece rock outfit give a uniquely fresh take on whiskey-soaked blues and indie rock and roll.
Loose, distorted guitar beneath cryptic lyrics, throbbing and gritty basslines alongside pounding drums, BWD give an honest and hounorable take on the genre, with a modern twist and a glazed eye to the future.
