Gig Information

Greg Copeland is coming back to New Zealand!

He's is taking it to the roots with an up close and personal acoustic journey.

Greg pays his dues to the originals and forefathers of the Blues from deep down South, channelling the spirit into his own material and style.
You'll hear warm embraces with Sister Soul and a tip of the hat to Brother Funk.

„When I sing I want you to feel my hurt, my pain, my happiness and my sadness. I want to ask for forgiveness if I did something wrong and forgive people if they have done me wrong. All these things I try to do with my music.“

While growing up in Portsmouth, Virginia, Greg was and still is heavily influenced by artists such as James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Robert Johnson, Howlin´Wolf and many others.
These influences have helped Greg to develop his own unique style, based on Blues taking in Soul and Funk elements.

Greg performs across the globe and is an accomplished songwriter and produced several albums.
He brings with him his latest CD titled Brown-eyed Handsome Man, released in March 2019.

On his side is good friend Steve 'Guitar' Gilles, playing the acoustic guitar and resonator slide as well as blues harp.
Steve has already been along on three other 'Blues all over NZ tours': in 2012 with Big Daddy Wilson, then a year later seasoning his chops with US Bluesman “Watermelon Slim” followed by a second NZ tour with Big Daddy Wilson in 2015. He has also been touring Australia in March 2016 with Big Daddy Wilson, clocking up miles, experiences, and audiences.
Greg and Steve hit the road this October and November for an amazing 27 gigs all over New Zealand.

Tickets available at the door at $ 25 on the night unless sold out prior (sorry no eftpos).

A singer and a storyteller! That is what this man is.
With his soulful, blues voice he takes you on an 'Acoustic
Journey to the Blues'!“
Blues News Magazine

Greg Copeland is for real!“
