GUEST MUSICIAN - STEVE HUGHES
Born in '53, our guest was excited by music right from the start, singing, then ukulele, piano and guitar - with guitar as the mainstay. Steve has performed in choirs and bands playing R'n'B, Blues and currently Rock'n'Roll with Foxtail Rumble. He spent some time travelling around the southern USA singing in churches (spirituals and church music) and soaking up the culture.
Steve will intersperse his R'n'R song set with interesting facts about the start of this genre and artists that cemented it so memorably into our psyche.
Accompanying Steve on guitar will be COLIN SPEIR - one of NZ's guitaring treasures and, like Steve, a regular performer in the haven that is the One2One music whanau.
BRING YOUR WRITING - poetry, flash fiction, micro fiction, short story, novel excerpts, performance poetry etc - to share at the open mic (up to 6 mins max) , or come as audience to hear what's brand new.To read, just sign up on the open mic list as you arrive. Newcomers and regulars equally welcomed.
Inside.out thanks CHRIS PRIESTLEY and the team at Cafe One2One, and the fine people at the NZ Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc) Te Puni Kaituhi O Aotearoa Auckland Branch, for their support of this open mic literary & music event in Tamaki Makaurau .https://authors.org.nz/.

Bring koha for our hard-working musician/s please! With your emcee Anita Arlov. ph/txt 021 100 40 77. SEE YOU THERE!
