Gig Information

Audio Foundation is excited to present, for the first time in Aotearoa, the incredible voice artist
Fuji Yuki.

Fuji-Yuki is a Japanese vocalist known as a member of the ethereal drone pop duo Sarry. She is influenced by ancient music, Buddhist ritual music, krautrock, progressive rock, noise music, and abstract experimental music.
Her vocal styles include unusual singing approaches: minimal phrase repetition, voice drone, etc. Her voice works as one of a number of great instruments. Many artists have played with her original abstract sounds.

If it were possible to project sound through a crystal, it would probably sound something like this. Like a book of prophecy where multiple speculations are blended together, its intimations and allusions left obscure. And at the same time it's like infringing some taboo by creating a rapport with memories of a distant, past life. Weird hymns that waver between curiosity and dread. with

Wamei (Japan)
Wamei is a special music enthusiast, drone music writer and player.
Combining the European ancient instrument, the hurdy-gurdy, nicknamed the 'medieval synthesiser', and a state-of-the-art modular synthesiser reminiscent of early electronic music, he performs in a thoroughly abstract style of expression based on drone (performance with sustained sound), which is concerned with 'sounds that lead to other worlds' that directly affect the listener's musical sensibilities.
His performances are concerned with sounds that lead to other worlds, which directly affect the listener's senses rather than their own musical sensibilities.

In the past, he has participated in bands and units of various genres, including the unit Sarry formed with female vocalist Fuji-Yuki, and has also produced and released many works from labels in Europe and other parts of the world, as well as touring in Europe, Australia and Taiwan. He has also toured Europe, Australia and Taiwan, and collaborated with musicians from other countries to produce works.

Kraus
Kraus is a New Zealand experimental musician and composer. The NZ Listener called him a national treasure and one of the most quietly important and interesting people making music in New Zealand. His music crosses the boundaries of electronic music, post-rock, no wave, space folk, noise pop, punk rock and martian stomp.
