Weekly Round Up: Friday 25th November

A real mix-bag of tour announcements came rolling in this week. Guitar virtuoso Santana and his buddies The Doobie Brothers announced a couple of Byron Bay Bluefest sideshows. Rhymesayers labelmates Atmosphere and Brother Ali announced a joint Auckland show for February. New York indie-pop outfit Frankie Cosmos have lined up four dates on these shores for March. Hackney street punks The Restarts announced a four-date tour for February. And Die! Die! Die! announced a healthy string of shows for their summer tour.

And in release news, so much excellent stuff came out of the local woodwork this week. Te Huhu shared new single 'Cruising Around' as a taste of their upcoming LP. Auckland grungers Courtney Hate let loose their three song EP, Sleepwalking. Milk (aka Totems, aka Reuben Winter) shared his amazing new track 'Everyday' as he gears up to release an album through Danger Collective. And P.H.F. let loose their song 'Queen' as they announced forthcoming album 9mm. Across the ditch, ex-pat street punks No Class shared blue collar cuts from their new 7-inch. And we caught wind of Canadian slacker-pop trio The Courtneys signing to our very own Flying Nun to release their upcoming album. In album streams, we were delighted to wrap our ears around the debut offering from Auckland artist Kitty Taylor. And we were also stoked to share the new solo album from Paul Cathro of Ha The Unclear.

This week's Caught Live is the Salad Boys performing a great acoustic version of 'We Are' as part of a recent set at Isaac Theatre Royal at the start of the month...
