Weekly Round Up: Friday 31st March

Friday 31st March, 2017 2:55PM

Another month bites the dust!! With the final week of March came some cool tour announcements. Long standing beat digger DJ Shadow is returning to New Zealand for one show at Auckland's Powerstation in June. Yusuf Islam, who is perhaps better known by his former stage name Cat Stevens, has lined up a three-date tour for the end of the year. Auckland noise-pop makers The Biscuits are rolling out on their first ever nationwide tour in support of their new 7-inch, Rise. Gallantino collective co-founders and rising rap stars Mzwetwo and Tapz revealed two dates for a joint tour in May. And our favourite Wellington mind-melters The All Seeing Hand premiered a new video along with news they are jumping the ditch for a decent Australian tour.

Some excellent releases got dropped on us this week. Highlights include a new offering from Aldous Harding, who shared 'Imagining My Man' along with a striking video. Auckland indie-pop act Fazerdaze let loose excellent single 'Take It Slow' from the forthcoming debut album Morningside. And The Grow Room unearthed nine-track album I Wanna Live In The Country But The City Said No from local producer Dusty Melody. From further abroad, we were treated to a surprise video from Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar for his brand new song 'Humble'. And UK group alt-J shared their latest cut 'In Cold Blood' from their upcoming record Relaxer.

This week's Caught Live is Christchurch lot The Dance Asthmatics delivering a most excellent live-to-air at the Radio One studios in Dunedin...
