Announcement highlights for the week included Waipu thrashers Alien Weaponry will be storming across Aotearoa on their long-awaited Level One Tour, happening in November and December, Nadia Reid and Hollie Fullbrook of Tiny Ruins announced three new South Island dates for their ongoing Reid & Ruins tour, Julia Deans of Fur Patrol is cracking her knuckles and leaping back into the fray with a trifecta of North Island spring solo events, Tāmaki Makaurau punks Dick Move embark on an all-encompassing nationwide album release tour in October, Pōneke's Bad Hagrid are at long last touring their debut album Bad Hagrid and The Planet of The Androgynites in November, and Shadowplay revealed the lineup for their inaugural "three night festival of darkness" Gathering Shadows, taking over the hallowed halls of Pōneke's Valhalla and San Fran in late January 2021. Lovers of cacophonous riffage from beyond our shores will be keen to hear there's unholy light on the horizon — US thrash legends Sacred Reich and Vio-Lence revealed their double-headline North Island shows will now be taking place in October 2021, and Ukrainian doom lords Stoned Jesus and Somali Yacht Club will now be obliterating earholes in NZ this coming May 2021.
