Mads Harrop Shares New Single 'Skyline' + Touring This Summer
Making a major splash with her 2020 pandemic-era anthem 'Contagious World' (which still feels like a modern classic), Otago songwriter Mads Harrop and her band are finally embarking on a debut nationwide tour of Aotearoa. Harrop greets our sunny Friday with brand new single 'Skyline', a dreamy and swirling shoegaze / psych-pop panorama — very effectively encapsulating the optimistic, liberating feeling of hitting the highway for summer adventures with friends.
Mads Harrop and her band are toasting the launch of 'Skyline' with headline dates teed up next month at Tāmaki Makaurau's 605 Morningside and Tauranga's The Jam Factory, plus they've got supports slots locked in for Aus rockers Hot Machine's show at Whammy Bar, and at Ōtepoti's The Crown opening for Left or Right just before Christmas. Very much manifesting the optimistic questing spirit of 'Skyline', Harrop's first ever nationwide adventure also includes a slot at Grrunk Festival in Galatea, alongside such local greats as Jordan Luck, Delaney Davidson and Adam Hattaway. Listen up to 'Skyline' and join Mads Harrop and her band this summer...
"Skyline is basically a story about chasing friendship and freedom through planning a holiday with them. It’s that feeling when you drive toward the light with people you love and everything feels possible."
