Welcomer Announce 'Calendars' Album Release Tour + Unveil Single 'Magazine Clippings' ft. Lontalius
Led by Te Whanganui-a-Tara songwriter Miles Sutton, Welcomer make an auspicious return with a pileup of exciting Friday announcements. Their long-awaited debut album Calendars will be officially out on 12th June via Aotearoa's independent champions of emo-adjacent songcraft Papaiti Records, entering our world with a six date nationwide tour starting on launch day in Te Papaioea. The icing on the cake is new single 'Magazine Clippings', a warm-spirited and elegantly arranged "heavy but hopeful exchange", featuring a guest verse by local songwriting peer Lontalius.
Recorded in the capital, London, Paris and Kawerau, Calendars was co-produced by Jesse Austin-Stewart and features a mega-talented cast of contributors, including Eddie Crawshaw (Lake South), Ox Lennon, and Shannen Georgia Petersen (Sports Dreams). Welcomer are embarking on their first nationwide headline tour to celebrate the release of their debut album Calendars, out June 12 via trusted DIY stalwarts, Papaiti Records.
Calendars follows a string of European shows in 2025 and a self titled EP which was described by Under the Radar as ‘melancholic splendour.. in swirls of harmonious goodness, each packed with presence and perfectly placed’. Single Nothing of You Remaining was described by Rolling Stone AU as “blending folk influences with strings for a warm, layered pop sound”.
