A crisp, snappy roundup section this week. Revisit our coverage of DARTZ, Clementine Valentine, Ebony Lamb, Hemi Hemingway, D.C. Maxwell, Summer Thieves and Jujulipps, read our new comics journalism feature by Yeehawtheboys starring Beastwars, watch our new Trash Recital episode by Sports Team starring Grecco Romank, then delve into more notable new local releases below from Myele Manzanza, Sarah Mary Chadwick and FODR. "That's content baby!"

UK-based, Aotearoa-born jazz / soul composer and producer Myele Manzanza (Electric Wire Hustle) teased the fourth volume of his Crisis & Opportunity series with transportive lead instrumental single 'Something Old Something New' — laid down in NYC with Matt Penman on double bass Matthew Sheens on piano. "A new direction again from me. My first fully acoustic record, and exploring new directions in composition and execution in the piano trio format."

Paving the way for her forthcoming eighth studio record Messages to God on September 15 via Kill Rock Stars, Melbourne-based Aotearoa songwriter Sarah Mary Chadwick's resplendent new single finds her 'Drinkin' On A Tuesday' — the quietest night during my hospo days (due to Wednesday paydays), meaning ample moments for blissfully undisturbed sips. Here's the accompanying video, directed by Stacey Sian and featuring Hank Clifton-Williamson.

Ōtautahi-based host of the ongoing A Night With... performance and conversation live podcast series, Hahko recently rallied the FODR troops for a daytime performance at Flying Nun's Pōneke store on Cuba Street. Watch them ripping through 'FODR (Means Fear)'.
