With their new EP Stay The Night a little over a week old, Tāmaki Makaurau based indie four-piece Daffodils are stoked to announce they will be heading out on a national tour bringing their Aussie mates The Lazy Eyes along for the ride.

Taking in five dates across Aotearoa, this will be fans first chance to hear the brand new EP played live in what promises to be a wild night of magical musicianship, big feelings, youthful abandon and a heap of fun. If one was to need a reference point, the video for title track Stay The Night is a good start.

Produced by Jol Mulholland, the Stay The Night EP has dynamic themes of growing and changing within self and within relationships. Clocking in at five songs, each track captures different stages of a relationship and how those in them evolve over time. Receiving support from all bNet radio, Radio Hauraki, MTV and online tastemakers such as SNIFFERS, Under The Radar and Coup de Main, Stay The Night is Daffodils in full bloom, at their reflective best bringing their legions of fans along for the ride.

Daffodils have spent the last couple of years patiently waiting to get back out on the road. This run of shows in August will be their first headline tour of Aotearoa since 2020 and they can’t wait to get out across New Zealand to play live.

‘We’re so stoked to be finally touring and playing live for our fans right across NZ. We’re really proud of our new EP and cannot wait to play it live for you all! See you there! – Daffodils.

Joining Daffodils on all five dates is Sydney four piece The Lazy Eyes. Having released their debut album Songbook in September 2021, this will be their first time in Aotearoa. The band first bonded in high school over a love of psych rock, cutting their teeth busking on the streets of Sydney. Taking cues from King Gizzard, Osees and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Songbook is a world unto itself, and like every good fantasy world, it abides by its own logic. The colours are a little brighter; things move a little slower, but they’re liable to get inordinately faster in the blink of an eye. Known for their magnetic live shows The Lazy Eyes will be playing Byron Bay’s Splendour In The Grass as well as supporting The Strokes throughout Australia before they jump the ditch for their debut run of New Zealand shows on the Stay The Night Tour.

With their last two headline shows in New Zealand selling out ahead of time, it’s no wonder Daffodils are in hot demand. Fans are encouraged to get in quick. These shows will sell out.
