Weekly Round Up: Friday 3rd June
In tour news this week we were excited to announce that Fat White Family will be heading to New Zealand for two (no doubt) debauched shows at the end of July. Breakneck rapper Tech N9ne is returning this way for four dates in November. Auckland-based outfit Ha The Unclear announced a short winter jaunt around the country for July. And Wellington trio Terror Of The Deep have lined up a handful of vinyl release shows for the next few weeks.
Some cool local releases came to light this week. An EL-P-produced single from The Veils' upcoming album finally landed and it's better than we could have ever hoped. Dunedin gothtronica trio Elan Vital let loose their cool new single 'Janina' as they kicked off their tour of the country. We heard from new solo act Merk, aka Mark Perkins, who premiered his great new college rock single 'Manchuria'. Shayne P Carter unveiled a lush single as he prepares to release his new album Offsider. And further abroad, Angel Olsen unveiled intriguing track 'Intern'. Beck dropped his new tune 'Wow' out of the blue. And Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds announced a forthcoming album called Skeleton Tree which is due for release in September.
This week's Caught Live is a clip of French electronica act Air performing their 1998 tune 'Sexy Boy' at Primavera Sound which is currently underway in Barcelona...
