BIG FAN LIVE - NZ Music Month Shows ft. Crystal Chen, Eve Kelly, Women About Sound + More

Amplifying musical voices in our community both on and off stage, the ongoing BIG FAN LIVE initiative is "designed to break down the traditional financial and access barriers when putting on a live show". Providing venue and promotional support for participants "interested in staging an original live music show," the all-ages Tāmaki Makaurau hub has three BIG FAN LIVE events lined up for May aka NZ Music Month / Te Marama Puoro o Aotearoa and is currently encouraging applications for June. First up for May will be Crystal Chen, playing her debut headline show this coming Thursday with friends Kédu (Kédu Carlö) and DJ Left Hand Loz. Chen will joined on stage by bandmates Francesca Parussini, Joe Kaptein, Holly Webster, Elijah Mcpherson, Adam Tobeck, Harrison Chau and Chelsea Naepi, following through the snazzy grooves of her latest single 'Love Letter' produced by Kenny Sterling. Whakatāne rising star Eve Kelly and her five piece band — including saxophonist extraordinaire Thabani Gapara — will elevate the Morningside venue with soul-pop energy on 12th May, alongside special guests Ella Grace and Ōtautahi's Loveta. Fostering "the development of a thriving diverse music community for women and gender diverse musicians in New Zealand", Women About Sound have put together a sonically boundless lineup for NZ Music Month, starring Miloux, The Sour, Scarlett Lashes, Amelia Kae-Ryder, Ms Mia and Lesbian Death Slutz From Hell on 17th May.
