Weekly Round Up: Friday 10th June

This week in tour news we were bloody stoked to announce the impending arrival of the one-and-only Kid Congo Powers who is coming to New Zealand for the very first time with his band The Pink Monkey Birds in tow. Our buddy Michael McClelland is bringing over Melbourne foursome Terry for a 10-date jaunt around the country kicking off at the end of the month. Los Angeles punk rockers Bleached announced a special one-off show for Auckland's Whammy Bar. Post-rock trio Jakob have revealed dates for four shows on home turf following their recent return from Europe. And hip hop trailblazers Arrested Development are heading over for one Auckland show in August.

In release news, Wellington outfit So Laid Back Country emerged with 'Garden Lost Child, Pt 2' to build on the momentum gained when they released the phenomenal first part a few weeks ago. Christchurch's Log Horn Breed let loose their killer new single 'Evils Face' along with an incredible DIY video. Auckland musician Dave Weir (New Gum Sarn, The Nightshades) is riding high on the wave of his excellent new single 'Sweet Lily White'. The gothtronica trio Elan Vital from Dunedin have rolled out a gorgeous video for their new single 'Janina'. Also new on the video front, Avoid!Avoid premiered a dystopian vision which accompanies their single 'Drones'. And further abroad, The Stone Roses have lifted the lid on a new single, and Aphex Twin has announced a fresh EP called Cheetah is on its way.
