It's been a head-spinning week of show announcements and release news, as anticipation reached fever pitch for The Others Way festival, taking over venues throughout Tāmaki Makaurau's Karangahape Road district tonight. Announcement highlights for the week include US black metal innovators Wolves In The Throne Room are at journeying to Aotearoa, to play two headline events this summer, dream-pop globetrotters Yumi Zouma are syncing their schedules to play a special Christchurch homecoming event in October, Tāmaki Makaurau's Spawts will play their first ever headlining nationwide tour in September, and the supports have been revealed for Berlin via Russia experimentalist Mary Ocher's four Aotearoa shows this spring.

Ahead of Auckland's festival madness tonight, we showcased five emerging acts appearing at The Others Way 2019. Dateline’s Katie Ham, Vayne, half of Contenders, Brad Fafejta from Créme Jéan, and Negative Nancies generously sat themselves down to answer our quick-fire questions, get to know these rising stars here. Also performing tonight at The Others Way at Neck Of The Woods, and the Girls Rock Camp all-ages and alcohol free stage, Jasmine Balmer of Being. chatted about poetry, primary school and process with Eliana Gray of Ōtepoti duo Jaggers x Lines, ahead of the release of Gray's debut poetry collection Eager To Break – dive into their in depth convo right here. To round off the week's features, we were beyond thrilled to premiere the lead single from Tāmaki Makaurau's dreamscape artist Green Grove aka Durham Fenwick's first full length album Machine Music, wrap your ears around 'Silently' and read our short interview with Green Grove here.


Our Caught Live video for the week features NYC songwriter Joan As Police Woman aka Joan Wasser, who is touring Aotearoa for the first time ever this coming October, with intimate solo headline events lined up for Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
