Join us for this special gig celebrating our favourite music from this year's gigs: the music of Benny Carter and Duke Ellington! Featuring original arrangements of Ellington classics, transcriptions of Benny Carter's arrangements, and a few Christmas classics. Except tunes from Such Sweet Thunder; Black, Brown, and Beige, the Nutcracker Suite, Further Definitions, and more! The band will showcase every instrument, and there will be a feature from the band's celebrated clarinet trio. The septet is made up of some of Wellington’s top players, including members of the Aotearoa Jazz Orchestra, the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band, New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī faculty, and rising stars.
