Gig Information

Arahina Mai Tour is a special triple line up collaboration between soulful songstresses Julia Cooper (Jullekke & Dr Reknaw) Nikau Te Huki (Casual Healing) and Gigi Crayford (Hine) in a stripped back, intimate and spellbinding solo setting. Sit back, take a breath and ground into a night of medicine music.

Julia Cooper is an Aotearoa singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Best known as the front woman and co-founder of Aotearoa’s well loved band ‘Dr Reknaw’. Julia has recently birthed her solo project ‘Jullekke’. She is recognised for her smooth, velvety & sultry vocal tones, catchy trance bass and guitar riff. Her lyricism features an ethereal quality mixed with messages of empowerment, consciousness and healing. With flavours of roots, soul, world tastes and funk. Julia describes her music as “vibrational food for the soul of listeners. Melodies to gift and uplift”.

CASUAL HEALING - Nikau Te Huki is a unique composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Pōneke, Aotearoa - and his soulful solo project goes by the name of Casual Healing. As a true sonic missionary, Nikau is creating a soothing “golden-era sound” as part of his mission to heal with his music. The songs of Casual Healing emphasise life lessons of aroha, peace and unity through powerful lyrical scribe woven into smooth reggae, soul rhythm. This infusion creates a unique nostalgic vibe, creating a captivating and comforting essence that evokes recollections of moments shared with friends and whānau. Casual Healing's goal is to create songs that “make people feel like they want to be better people”, drawing inspiration from Bob Marley, who showed us the power of compassion and simplicity.

Nau Mai ki te Ao o HINE - A Māori witch folk noir weaving of Taonga Pūoro, sonic storytelling & poetry. This enchanting songstress radiates strength through vulnerability & the connections awakened from returning to our roots. A blend of Te Reo Māori & English, this powerful set will echo through your bones & reverberate your soul. HINE recently released her debut EP 'KA MUA KA MURI' with a national tour, leading the EP to place #1 on the Aotearoa Official Top Charts. This will be HINE’s last tour of the North Island before a move to Ōtautahi and then travel internationally.

Arahina Mai meaning ‘Guide Me” speaks to the artist's devotion to spirit through their craft and devotional practice of music & art as ritual & medicine. This show will be a deeply intimate, intentional & community centric setting of heart & healing.
