Timothy Blackman Unveils New Album 'Between The Islands' + Announces Summer Tour

Open-eared founder of Aotearoa's folk community pillars Home Alone, Timothy Blackman's new album is the proudly independent imprint's fiftieth release! The Te Whanganui-a-Tara songwriter's first solo long player in seven years, Between the Islands was immaculately recorded live with Home Alone compadres Tessa Dillon (Mystery Waitress) and Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa (French for Rabbits, Dateline) at Lee Prebble's The Surgery, with additional keys / synths provided by Brooke Singer (French for Rabbits).

What unfolds is a deeply personal yet open-hearted, eight song contemplation of grief, memory and the ephemerality of relationships. Defining his own space in dream-folk balladry— with a notable tip of the hat to Texan outsider legend Jandek — enlivened by indie / post-rock dynamism, Blackman will be spreading the good word about Between the Islands with a summer release tour. He's performing nationwide in both full band and solo modes, plus three shows in Australia alongside the aforementioned Tessa de Lyon.
