Created to revive and celebrate the underground electronic scene, Funky Friday is more than just a night out, it’s a space for music lovers, dancers, and creatives to connect through rhythm and energy. Each edition features a rotating lineup of talented DJs, both local and international, ensuring a fresh and unique experience every time.

Hailing from Italy and now rooted in Wellington’s vibrant scene, Not My Sister quickly burst onto Aotearoa’s dance floors and has been on a rapid rise ever since. She’s lit up festivals like Twisted Frequency, Kiwiburn, Earthbeat, CubaDupa, Taniwha’s Den and Arkadien and supported international acts including KC Lights.
She currently holds a radio residency on Wellington’s iconic Radio Active, where her show dives deep into house and underground sounds.
Heavily influenced by funk and disco, and driven by a love for vocals, groove and infectious pulse of 90s House, Not My Sister delivers high-energy, uplifting sets that weave together melodic basslines with soulful, tech and deep house sounds. Expect pure passion and play from the moment she steps up to the decks.

Fortuna is the founder of Fortunes, a Pōneke event series devoted to the deeper end of the spectrum: deep, progressive and melodic house and techno.
Her selections run dark and sexy, all rolling momentum and slow-burn tension, the kind of set that rewards surrender. She doesn't chase the peak, she builds toward it, and the dancefloor follow.

RYAN C - TECHNO
Ryan C is a house and techno DJ based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington), NZ.
He spent his formative years travelling solo around the desolate Southern African coast, the stars his blanket and the ocean his teacher.
After being missing for 14 years, he was ‘liberated’ by the Red Cross in Northern Africa ‘working’ on an Ethiopian pirate ship in the Gulf of Aden.
He was in desperate need of revitalisation, so was moved to their base deep in the Amazon basin, in Peru, near the border of Brazil, where he was healed by Amazonian Shamans using an ancient technique.
The Amazonian tribe then guided him by canoe through the Amazon river to the coast of Brazil where he found a group of underground tribal techno-heads living on an island and learnt the ways of techno. After finding out about an illustrious island in the South-Pacific where the earth moves and sky is painted with lava from deep inside the earth, he made his way to Aotearoa where he continues his search inwards, through music.
