Gig Information

Neptune Collective is excited to bring you some epic live music on the opening night of Art Jam! in collaboration with Newtown Community & Cultural Centre

Featuring: SOULDROP - NAHBO - WILL MCCLEAN & THE ZOOKS

Opens 6pm for you to come & check out all the artwork, music starts at 7 :~)

Art Jam: The empty Newtown Community Centre is filling up with art, music and creativity and opening all its doors for you to explore!
Newtown Community Centre is having huge renovations and will be moving out of our building for a whole YEAR. The building, on the corner of Colombo & Rintoul Streets, is a huge ex-Church with heaps of nooks, crannies, hidden rooms and strange angles.
On the weekend of the 14th, 15th and 16th of May, we’re throwing open all the doors - so come and explore!
What might you find? Local artists’ work to admire and buy, lights, art installation rooms, graffiti art all over the walls, live music, dance and community performances.

Souldrop is the musical equivalent of that whacky green smoothie your nan makes. What’s it even made of? In Souldrop’s case, the answer to that would be: soul, surf rock, reggae, Latin & funk with a twist of psychedelic lemon, to name just a few ingredients.

Astronesian native, NahBo, tries on the soundcloud fuckboy aesthetic, is sad about colonisation, then makes beats about it.

Born and raised in Wellington, Aotearoa, Will McClean has been surrounded by music for the majority of his life; eventually starting to write & create some himself.

For the past two years, Will has been writing and reflecting on his experiences so far, trying to work out his place in this world through his words.

Will’s rap style is mellow but precise; taking time to say what matters.

Will’s list of inspirations consists of the likes of Tom Scott, Mac Miller, Simloco, Loyle Carner and so much more.

Teaming up with some of his bros birthed the band, The Zooks.

Bringing a new level of energy to live shows, Will McClean & The Zooks are sure to get you singing, jumping and dancing along.
