The rumour mill has been in over drive this week with superstar Beyonce hotly tipped to play Auckland in October and news of the Big Day Out's approval for Western Springs opening speculation on the 2014 lineup. On the announce front, Tex-mex rockers Calexico will be returning to New Zealand in September for four dates; UK electronic duo Disclosure are to visit New Zealand for one exclusive show; Christchurch bands Salad Boys and Christian Rock have announced they will be touring the country together in August and The Veils have added extra shows in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch to their upcoming Time Stays We Go tour.

In release news, it's been a week of momentous single releases with The Chills releasing their first single in over a decade, entitled 'Molten Gold', along with the promise of several new projects from the band,  the Pixies released their first new track in nine years - 'Bagboy' and Ghidrah, who now go by Ghidoragh, released their first new single in many years from new EP Threat Level Ultra out soon.
