DROPPER & HOMING: SOUTH ISLAND SHOWS
Christchurch & Dunedin, November 2026
Two of Pōneke's most exciting emerging guitar bands are heading south this November for two nights of loud guitars, infectious melodies and raw live energy.
DROPPER deliver emotionally direct songwriting amid dense, distorted guitar textures, creating compelling alternative rock that balances melodic immediacy with powerful, raw intensity. If frenetic melodies and emotional intensity are touchstones for you, this is your band.
Following the release of their debut album Be a Little Kinder through Particle Recordings, Dropper are making a name for themselves as a formidable live act. Their experience includes sold-out headline shows, festival appearances and support slots for international heavyweights The Lemonheads, shame, Wunderhorse, Sleaford Mods, Razorlight and Ash.
Their live shows have been described as earsplittingly satisfying (Muzic.NZ), while Write Said Paul observed that They don't so much perform as attack the stage.
Joining them are HOMING, whose distinctive mix of alt-country, Americana and 90s slacker indie rock brings together melodic songwriting, ragged guitars and an infectious live energy. Moving effortlessly between tender, understated moments and full-throttle guitar rock, Homing have been praised by Muzic.NZ for their real confidence and presence in their performance.
Joining them are Ōtepoti’s Pearly*, bringing their explosive, guitar-driven alt-rock, blending soaring melodies, walls of noise and the unmistakable DNA of Flying Nun’s legendary indie-rock tradition.
Together, Dropper, Homing and Pearly* represent compelling sides of Aotearoa's emerging guitar music scene.
