Californian-born, Ojai-based songwriter Mimi Gilbert returns to Aotearoa New Zealand for a series of intimate shows, bringing songs from their latest album undrowning and a decade of deeply felt songwriting shaped by life on the road. Praised by Double J as “the best kept secret in the music industry,” Mimi’s quietly devastating folk songs move between tender reflection, raw emotion and unexpected joy. Joining Mimi is dear friend and extraordinary local musician Jordan Taramota Gray, making these shows a special meeting of kindred spirits. Mimi will headline across Te Waipounamu before joining Nadia Reid for two shows in Te Ika-a-Māui.
