Karl Steven 'Unfencing The Commons' Event Announced
Recipient of a hefty number of awards for his film and television soundtracks, including the 2020 APRA Silver Scrolls award for Best Music in a Feature Film for the score to Come To Daddy (starring Elijah Wood), Karl Steven is putting on a one night event showcasing his compositions at Tāmaki Makaurau's The Wine Cellar on 27th June. The Queen Neptune co-leader will perform a selection of his recent works on "assorted electronics" with taonga pūoro artist Rob Thorne, tuned percussionists Finn Scholes (Carnivorous Plant Society) and Michael Barker will play two vibraphones together, and string trio Kulios with David Rawsthorne will play "reworked material from the soundtrack to the Black Hands series."
