Delaney Davidson Shares Single / Video 'Heaven Is Falling' ft. Reb Fountain

The Lyttelton twain of NZ Arts Foundation laureate Delaney Davidson and Taite Music Prize winner Reb Fountain reveal their not-so-little single / video ‘Heaven Is Falling’. The latest track from Davidson’s forthcoming tenth studio album Out Of My Head (out March 22nd via Rough Diamond) initially emerged from a trial run between him and co-producer Mark Perkins (Merk),  co-written by Aotearoa’s classical songbird Hayley Westenra and features lilting strings arranged by Dr Karl Steven.

Jonathan King (Under The Mountain) directs a sepia-strained trickery of a music video centring on the relationship with redemption and saviour, made with the support of NZ On Air. Our heroes recorded the bending bones of acoustic guitar, accidental kettle whistling and structured ambience in the southern small town of Kurow and the shimmering Diamond Harbour. Fountain’s harmonies add a gentle climb to the pensive chorus to soften the descent of Davidson’s pitch, just as they both inexplicably levitate in simple but captivating visuals in the climax.
